Nt ipa

OR asked me what my normal earnings were (as I was getting overtime and this was due to finish in October) and we agreed the tax figure of £300 pm and i signed the forms agreeing to this amount.
NT code was applied in October so didn't pay tax but i also got extra money that month because of an error with previous overtime going back to December 2010, this was great as my husband was off work and his earnings went right down and we had a car repair bill to pay (car needed for his work)
Just had letter from Moonbeever asking for payslips so they can see when the payments should start, they will obviously see this larger than normal payslip for October. I have kept the £300 to one side but can they ask me to pay more and if so will they give me time to pay it - really worried and think I am in a bit of a mess - any help appreciated

Sorry but I don't know the answer to the specific question you ask, but at a guess if you write to Moonbeever explaining as you have above then hopefully you'll be fine. You could always ring them first to discuss the situation...When I joined, I needed a name. The forum members gave one to me...I am INAN

hi..in my own experience, the amount agreed between you and Moonbeever is a nominal sum, calculated on what is known to be your basic wage.
If overtime, or other payments, are received in addition...they, too, will not be subject to tax [as would be the case normally]....and Moonbeever need sight of the payslips so that they can calculate what additional amounts to add to the basic [pre-agreed] figure. Depending on how the clerk at Moonbeevers is feeling, you will be notified either how much additional money to pay, or will be presented with a gross figure, from which you subtract the original, basic [agreed] sum.
Or, in simple terms....set up a payment [I used monthly SO] for the original agreed amount, send off your payslips, then pay the balance when Moonbeever sends the amended bill.
In my first NT month, I had the [mis?]fortune to receive a productivity bonus.....as well as commencing overtime [in the National Interest, I might add].....
I would forward my payslips [having taken copies first]....within 21 days of receipt of the wage......by the time Moonbeever usually got back to me, at least 5 or 6 weeks had passed.....thus the balance owed usually was more than a month in arrears....
Feel free to take this as a hint on how to re-coup the situation financially? No, I don't think all other drivers are idiots......but some are determined to change my mind.......0 -
Thanks for your responses
May be being a bit thick but not sure what your last sentence means:o0 -
I must admit myfreddie, I was wondering quite what the 'hint' was and I usually understand Alistair's posts very well.;)When I joined, I needed a name. The forum members gave one to me...I am INAN

sorry, was my attempt at being a tad obtuse......far be it for me to suggest, even remotely, that the system might be 'played' to advantage?
I was referring back to the OP's problem of having used the extra money for an emergency....by utilising the 21 day rule for forwarding [ie, notifying] the pay slips with the overtime or bonus showing....plus the usual time it took Moonbeever to respond with the revised figure, there could be more than a month with which to play with, accumulating the lost sums...no doubt, someone would inform me I am displaying totally amoral symptoms regarding 'moneys owed?'No, I don't think all other drivers are idiots......but some are determined to change my mind.......0 -
That makes sense now Alistair, thanks. Presumably the money will be owed anyway so anything which helps recoup that already spent in order to have it to pay Moonbeever...When I joined, I needed a name. The forum members gave one to me...I am INAN
