CCJ Removal When You Have Paid Dept Off

I mate of mine wants to open a business with me, but we have a problem and that is that 2 years ago he had a problem and got a CCJ, he has paid this off, but still shows on his credit file. Most banks do not give bank accounts if you have any type of CCJ or problem with your credit file, so we want to know how to remove it, im sure there is a way to do this.
Kind Regards
Bill

If the debt was paid within a month of receiving it, it can be removed. If paid after this time, it will remain on file for 6 years.
