As some of you may have read, my GF was having some problems with the Advisors at the Job Centre
She starts her new job on Monday (14/11/2011) and her last sign on date was last Friday (04/11/2011)... is she entitled to a partial payment of her JSA (up until 14/11/2011) to tide her over until payday?

So does that mean she goes in on the 18th to sign on? That would be her usual sign on date.0

Rule 1:
NEVER EVER TELL the JC when you are actually starting work. - why ? - because they will cut the money short.. (then you have to fight)
years ago when i was on JC i was starting with royal mail on the 15th of November but never told the JC till the 5th of December (got my money's worth) - risky but worth it, i told them i started on the 4th of December heh.• HSBC (Main A/C)

I started a short term contract with Currys through an agency today. Till I know I've got regular shifts I'll only declare the earnings, not sign-off. I've been notified of 3 days shifts so far, hopefully Monday will mean more shifts.0

Thanks for the replies... her contract is for 19 hours and as I understand it, you can still get JSA if you work up to 16 hours.
She's been trying to ring them for ages, problem is, if they are busy they don't put you on hold, the automated system cuts you off - obviously a moneymaking ploy as there is a connection charge per call?0 -
