Hi
Saw something about making your own reindeer food on her somewhere, and thought it would be lovely for lo's.
Any way I wanted to dye some sugar to add but wondered if you can use paste dye as I don't have liquid dye?
Also what else is nice and safe to add appart from oats, as more rhan likely our greedy bassett hound will hoover it up on Christmas Eve:eek:
Many thanks

Paste dye could be used to colour a bit of water to make it liquid?
You can buy edible glitter for your oats etc. Could you buy some doggy white chocolate drops? Could give him quite a fun Christmas Eve going out couldn't it!! :rotfl: (And your kids will be amazed lol!)0 -

Not sure about the dye but, I would suggest that you do use something your dog will clear up for you. this will make it look like the reindeer have done it.
We did this one year and I gave them out to family with kids one of whom was my sister who just threw it all over the front garden path. When she got up the next day she had a big pile of oats, sugar that had absorbed the moisture in the air, you can guess what it looked like
My kids loved it though

The OP's Basset Hound will have a nice sparkly Christmas theme to his/hers 'deposits' on Christmas morning :rotfl:..... Just speaking from experience as our Dalmatian once ate a bowl of silver edible cake decorations on Christmas Eve.0 -
Hadn't thought about her 'deposits', fits with a 'magical' theme I guess:rotfl::rotfl:
Good idea about the doggy chocs, think I will get some of those for the reindeer food, am more concerned about the dye on the sugar being damp and dyeing her ears as they do tend to mop up things, she might give the game away if she has sparkly, festive coloured ears;)'You have brains in your head. :rotfl: When I bought the edible glitter from eBay there was a warning that it was edible, but non digestible if you know what I mean lol!!!!
Looks great though, very expensive but a little goes a long way. I bought 2 tiny pots last January and sprinkle them on brownies and cupcakes and still have 2 practically full pots left!!
I have one silver and 1 purple like this http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Edible-Cake-Glitter-Cupcake-Sprinkles-Hologram-Lavender-/110768944125?_trksid=p3284.m263&_trkparms=algo%3DSIC%26its%3DI%26itu%3DUCI%252BIA%252BUA%252BFICS%252BUFI%26otn%3D21%26pmod%3D230665872615%26ps%3D54#ht_1230wt_1037
(note, probably not who I bought it from and I just picked one at random, not necessarily the cheapest)0 -
If it help Mr T has baking on 3 for 2. There is sparkly sugar on offer ... I plan to use for mine0
