One pension or two?

Some time ago I was advised to stop paying into my personal pension as it was not performing as well as others. I then started another personal pension with another company which I have continued. The original pension (aprox 10k) was left where it was.
Should I amalgamate this first pension pot with my current one, or leave where it is. For all I know it may be performing better now.

Maybe, maybe not. Without knowing about the pensions, the charges on them and any guarantees we cant tell. If the original advice was before 2001, then you should get them both reviewed as pensions changed in 2001 and modern plans are generally much better than older plans (with some caveats).

Give us some details about the pensions - which company, which funds they're in, transfer value, annual charges then we can give a view.
    Trying to keep it simple...;)
