Crackers!!!!!

Hi everyone,

Hope you can give me few ideas! I'm not that keen on buying xmas crackers, so thought I could get some that you can fill with your own goodies.

The problem Im having is that I have my DH & 3 sons, couple of girlfriends, so no probs there, make-up etc, but what on earth can I get for the guys that will fit into the crackers????

Thanks

Alcohol miniatures went down very well in mine, or perhaps scratchcards?

I theme my cracker for the family party on Boxing Day, one year we all had a clockwork animal and we had a race, one year kazoos and played name that tune, the everyone has a different fake moustache year was hilarious!

I have done crackers in the past

    Lottery Scratch Card
    Kickers (Sparklie one's for a laugh )
    Key Rings

Have to think a bit more for things I have put in them, hope this helps to start you off

    Brilliant idea!

It was such fun and a great way to get a bunch of people of all ages with very different interests to have fun together, you'd be amazed how many tunes we all knew, from Guide me oh thou great redeemer to Delilah via Colonel Bogey we were in fits and it only gets better the more you've had to drink ;) Filled that afternoon lull in a long family day perfectly
  • When gettting the extended family together (we only tend to see everyone together at Christmas), we often get those slot together planes - about 30p in Hawkin. Get competition going and you don't get upset when a LO stands on them!

Love these ideas! Anyone know where I can get the empty crackers or a kit to make them? I'm thinking clockwork animals and kazoos and maybe something else in mine so they'll need to be large!
  • most places do kits that will be coming out anytime soon, home bargins usually has some at a good price, you can use toilet rolls and wrapping paper, or you can just buy some cheap crackers, open one end, replace the contents and put your own decorations on and maybe add nice ribbons at each end and the recipients name tied on.

I did some gifty crackers last year and put in barry m nail polishes for us girlys and scratch cards for the men...I also did the false moustache and wrote the best clean jokes I could find...example.....

2 fish in a tank, one turns to the other and says.... can you drive this thing?

    and.......

I went to the zoo the other day and all they had was ONE DOG!!!

    It was a shihtzu

lol!!! they made me laugh anyway!
back to comping after a 2 year break!! Mission… to win a gift for all my family for Christmas!
  • What about pots of gold as an alternative to crackers

I think both are gooed ideas. But remember Christmas comes along every year. Why not keep one of the ideas for next year and the crackers don't need to be so big???
