Help us get over our debt!!!

My husband and have now being in debt for over 4 years, and have been struggling to pay back in what ever way or form. We made token contributions, but this did not stop the letters and phone calls from our creditors. we then came across IVA and was promise all the help from the company B&E, until we realise they want every extra money we earn after over time at work and away from our family. We then came across another company called Stop the worry
and was advise to stop the contribution to the IVA company (we did), as we were given bad advise and that we should go bankrupt as we didnt even own our own House or have any asset. from the advise we asked B&E to apply for us to be bankrupt, they said they cannot, because there is insufficient Nominees fee and had nofunds to petition for our bankruptcy, and are in the process of issueing a certificate of non compliance. Should we just go for bankrupcy, as i cannot see any other way out?Is there anyone out there in a similar situation or have been????????????????????

Hi Mboo
You need expert and impartial advice. Rather than going to a fee charging provider such as Baines and Earnst, I'd recommend contacting one of the free charity services such as CCCS or Payplan (links at the top of this page). They will listen to your circumstances and give you impartial advice on what your options are, what the risks/consequences are and how to go about things.
Hope this helps0
