Hi, I recently signed up to experian to check my score and currently it is 870, I don't remember it being that high last time I checked, also on CallCredit my score was around 570 a few months ago, I think that was in March when I applied for a loan but was rejected because of a mark in my report. Why are the credit scores so different from each other company to company?

    Hi

Credit scores are a waste of money and really no point putting any reliance on them.

However to answer your question - the scores are very different because each credit reference agency will have slightly different information about you, depending on which of your creditors report to each. And the scores are not even on the same scales - ie the maximum figure is different with the different agencies.

If you are looking to apply for credit then what is important is the raw data on your credit file, not the score generated by the credit reference agency to make money, which is never seen by a potential lender.

They are internal scores used by the credit agency to try and give you a reason to pay them each month. Lenders dont use them (and arent even supplied those figures). They use their own systems.

Yes but the CRAs build most of their systems so our opinion is very relevant!

Nope your opinion is not relevant - the raw data your provide is relevant as that is all you can possibly base your 'credit score' on, but as discussed many many times before the raw data is no indication on its own as to whether an individual might be successful when they apply for credit.
There is far too much very relevant information that a potential lender assesses that your credit scores cannot possibly take into consideration.

I have a perfect experian score, but earn £2 a year oh wait the never asked my income on credit expert
Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.

The last time (and only time) i checked my experian credit score, which was around a year ago, it showed me a score of 999, yet i was turned down for 2 loans within a week of me doing this, all loan companys ONLY checking with Experian....so you still say your credit score is relivent?

    intresting.....

so either the loan comapnys were mad to turn me down, or your website generated a wrong score for me, if so, i want my money back. :D
