  • Thanks Twiddy
Yes looking forward to the first OP, going to be sensible and put some of our savings for the month to OP and some to replenishing what the garage took off me this weekend!
Things are very quiet at work at the moment so going to make sure we have some protection if need be.

  • Well well well what a day its been.
Pay day today, first standard mortgage payment not due until next week, so we've managed to make an overpayment, before our normal payments have even started!
My last mortgage payment was just before pay day, and the new one starts just after so i've effectively had a mortgage free month.
Plus a successful month budgeting, so i've managed to put some money into the emergency fund and make an overpayment of £500, knocking 3months off the term, i'll drink to that - cheers

  • You must be delighted. I get a real buzz about this stuff, but appreciate that other folk probably think we are all mad! I guess we will be the ones laughing when we are mortgage free.

    Good luck,

Absolutely, if i make it that far! We completed the purchase the day after my birthday. So as it stood when i got up this morning, i would be exactly 65 years old when the mortgage would be paid off. Now after a relatively small over payment, i will be 64 and 9months :rotfl:
The plan is to get that number way way down!
