France Downgraded by S&P

  • I downgraded France decades ago and it has done nothing to merit a reappraisal in the interim.

They jumped the gun is all, it's probably only a matter of time before it's downgraded for real.

I'm wondering if someone may have made a lot of money over that little 'technical fault'?
    I think....

They should be investigated for fraud, it's too easy to make money from the power they hold.

Seems a little fishy to me, how can you 'accidentally' announce a downgrade? The work experience lad must've jumped the gun.

A bit like reporting that Joe Frazier was dead, then apologising and saying he was alive, then he died anyway.

If you were short, either directly or indirectly, you'd have made a killing.

You have a guaranteed intraday move in an asset price. You can make money without even having to put any cash up!

There is no doubt in my mind that this was a criminal act. The only doubt is who dunnit.

I think that was a heightist remark. We can't all be of diminutive stature.
Who dunnits are best solved by Hercule Poirot. There may be scope for further enquiry by other nations detectives.

What is going to change with French government bond rates when compared to German government bond rates. Is there a significant difference to concern the UK/ others on the fringes of Europe and around the world ?
