Dear All,
Just when you think that you've got all under control, when you think that you are quite educationed in the way of the Debt Free Wannabe. Something really comes along and kicks you in the teeth.
Yesterday I found out that a favourite band of mine from days long ago was reforming and they were touring and they were coming to Newcastle. Yay!!!!
My sisters birthday next week - birthday present sorted!!!
I found out how many people wanted to go and, because I work about 5 minutes away from the venue, I would nip out of work and get the tickets first thing this morning. Only I won't pay by credit card because the surcharges do my head in, I'll pop to the cash machine and withdraw the cash.
Third person in the queue and yippee I get my tickets. All pals and sis very very happy!!!
Only on the way back from the venue I stop to admire a rather fantastic bit of demolition work going on and due to my distraction don't realise that my purse is missing from my pocket. Up until then I had my hands in my pockets - a cold day up in Newcastle dont you know!!
Therefore all cards cancelled, including me boots advantage card, police informed, steps retraced, pleaded with the venue to replace the tickets free of charge (all £170 worth) but they won't. Gutted.
Just when I thought I was doing so well, getting the credit cards down to a manageable level. I now have to pay, again for all the tickets that I got for people.
This friday isn't turning out to be a good one!!!
Roll on Monday!!!

Just read your message and wanted to say how sorry I am to hear your news. I always get tickets in cash too to avoid the hefty surcharges. Is it possible for you to report the tickets as stolen and have the venue make those stubbs void so that if nasty theif tries to use them he cant get in. Do you know what seat numbers they were? I wonder if they will appear on ebay or if you get new tickets you could confront the person on the day?
I'd be really upset and fuming mad too if it happened to me.Me debt free thanks to MSE :T0 -
Sorryy dirtyepic on your purse being lifted. Some people cant keep themselves off others property. Its like a kick in the teeth when you are trying so hard to sort yourself out isnt it. Hopefully tehy'll get caught trying to use one of your cancelled cards!!!
Youre near me - there's a few of us northerners on here.

Im a Northerner too and im distgusted whats happened to you, it gives all of us a bad name up here, it really makes me mad that people have to steal others hard earned!
Anyway, is there no way you can ask them to cancel the tickets and issue you replacements? Obviously they knew you'd only just been and purchased them.0
