Hi
I have been looking for wireless alarms and found some yale ones. There are these two that I have spotted but cannot tell the difference in the features except the shape. Can someone help me out here please?

Sorry to disapoint you but I wouldn't touch a wireless kit. Pay the extra and get a wired alarm installed should be much more reliable and trouble free.
There are too many devices in the moden home using the wireless frequencies plus you'll forever be changing batteries.0 -
Look the same to me
it may be than one is a slightly newer model than the other perhaps ?

I have been using 2 of the Comet ones at 2 properties for the past 4 years and have never had any problems with them - no false alarms or anything. The batteries last a while - over 2 years - and it's only the siren boxes that cause any difficulty when replacing the batteries due to their location high up on the building. I don't hesitate in recommending the system.
I bought mine from Homebase on one of their 10% off days.
I think the Argos one is just the new model. Yale has a website - can't remember the address but a Google should find it. I purchased an extended warranty from Yale but have never needed it.
Hope this helps.0 -
Yep. I've had a wireless one for over 10 years & no problems - just as well the company that made it is no longer in business. Agree with BCL batteries need changing about every 2 years. I would buy another tomorrow.0

Just get an alarm box on it's own.
The deterrent effect is the same.
Everybody ignores burglar alarms anyway.British Ex-pat in British Columbia!0 -

Have to disagree there. You are confusing this with things such as Video senders which operate at a frequency of 2.4 GHz (*2,400 MHz).
The Yale kit operates on 433 MHz (or 0.433 GHz).0 -
That's 433mhz along with wireless doorbells and most remote control toys.0

I have to agee with that, same reason i dont have a car alarm just think to yourself how many times have you called the police for a house alarm or do you just sit there and go .. Dam theres an alarm going off wait 5 mins it goes off so you forget about it. its only really usefull if your in the house and even then what you goign to do see if the cat tripped it for the 10th time or call the cops incase someone is in the house ?If it doesnt pay rent sell it.

Not where i live, if an alarm goes off in our little street i can guarantee at least 3 neighbors will be out looking in a matter of minutes. I like that.0
