Business Ideas?

Have health problems and a bit worried about loosing my job!

Anybody any ideas for a .com business or anything else for that matter that I can work for myself?

Would be hoping to make £200 a week.

Thanks
Katie

  • Oh dear, the possiblities on the internet are endless. My #1 advice is do not buy "make money" products on the internet. Search forums such as digital point where there's tonnes of free advice.

there are so many garbage products that i fell for years ago, I know beter now.

As said above don't pay for any info, you can find just about everything for free with some digging. You could start up a blog with some affiliate ad's? but one blog alone would be unlikely to make £200 a week in the short term and you would have to work hard getting it seen by a lot of people. You could also try to set up a website selling things like clickbank products? again you would have to put a lot of effort into marketing it.

The easiest thing may be to write an e-book on something you are really knowledgeable about and that can help people in some way? set up your own site to carry info about the product/ but put it up on clickbank so others do the selling for you and you get a cut of every sale?
  • Thanks for the advice guys.

WHAT ABOUT E-BAY? ARE THERE ANY OTHER SIMILAR SITES BETTER? WHAT'S BEST TO SELL?

WHAT ABOUT HIRING PRODUCTS TO PEOPLE? WHAT SORT OF THINGS COULD I HIRE OUT?

ANY OTHER IDEAS ARE VERY WELCOME!

    How about Direct Sales?
I am a team leader with a US grown company that launched here in April, currently only 351 consultants in the UK,85 in Germany.
I work both countries and grow my teams in both.No script/set targets as is common with other companies of this genre but more leeway in how you wish to grow it and how fast you want to take it.

I now have a team of 24 and expanding, not easy street cash but is honest, requires daily tending to and the rewards are well worth it.

As said run from those clickbank churned out splash pages that scream you will make millions in a year...if only it were that simple .
They require you to lure in people doing the same.

Blogging is also good but is something that doesn't happen relatively quickly .
Can be rewarding though if legwork is put in :)

    Good luck!

Finding a product which will sell easily and in large quantities is very, very difficult. No-one selling "X" is likely to tell you it's worth selling as they don't want the competition. If there's something you are knowledgeable about, try that. Ebay isn't the profitable medium it once was

WHAT ABOUT HIRING PRODUCTS TO PEOPLE? WHAT SORT OF THINGS COULD I HIRE OUT?

Loads of things, from clothes to cars, camcorders to caravans. But you will need capital to set up, possibly premises to store and very, very good insurance. Most people hire because they can't afford to buy or only want something for a short time/one off job or event.

ANY OTHER IDEAS ARE VERY WELCOME!

Invest some time in looking at old posts on this and the Small Business boards. There's not much that hasn't been covered.

  • There are many affiliate opportunities out there, find an area you are interested in, lets say mobile phones for example. Simply google mobile phone affiliates and you can find various programmes. Then build a site reviewing new mobile phones or mobile phone apps, on these pages have links to the affiliate program or a search box so people can search for mobile phone plans. You can do this with lots of products, bingo is popular just now and programmes are popping up all the time, they offer big commission too. You can use sites like clickbank, affiliatefuture or commission junction. Good Luck

    Hi Katie,

Your questions are so generic that they're impossible to answer.

"what's best to sell on Ebay ?"-Anything. But really you need to do the research yourself. go through Ebay listings, category after category (it is VERY tedious) and then make a note of some items that catch your eye and how much they sell for. Try and find them cheaper.

You're asking other people on here to do all the brainstorming for you and that is normally the easiest part.

Go to Ebay.com (which is the American version) and see what they have on there that Ebay.co.uk does not have and then contact the seller
