A robot vacuum cleaner??

I've been looking at a couple of video demonstrations of a robot vacuum cleaner called the Roomba and wonder if you guys reckon much to it. It looks small and probably only touches the surface but if it can relieve me of the dreary chore of daily vacuuming (puss cats) I'd be grateful. Apparantly the Second Edition is twica as powerful as the first and it retuns to base when its low on power/done!
Here is a clip of it in action the Roomba robot vacuum cleaner it has what I think is an amusing american narration.
If you have used one please let me know so I can make the decision to buy or not.

We had one, but the battery life was very poor (10-15 mins), even when we got a replacement. It also had a very small dust/dirt compartment and you needed to take it apart to clean.
Also to charge it took about 12 hours each time. I'd stay away.
Ironically our is now on a shelf collecting dust!0 -

I'll take it off your hands if you like!:D I really fancied getting one of these after seeing it on a student episode of Men in White. They are funny wee things.
DavidIf I had words to make a day for you,
I'd sing you a morning golden and new.
I would make this day last for all time,
Give you a night deep with moonshine.0 -
You'd be better off with a Ewbank (if they still make 'em), get a bit of excersise too.
What do you know they do:

We got one too & it was rubbish. It wasn't very good at picking bits up & couldn't climb up the rug in our room. It kept getting stuck at every door, wall, etc. You had to leave it on for about 30 mins to do one room & it didn't look any better when it had finished. It was a good idea but just a gimic really. We gave up on ours after about a week & went back to using the Dyson.0
