This is so unbelievably strong - where did I state I expect it immediately? It has still not arrived and I asked for it over a week ago, I do not think that is me being awkward..? I also ask for a batch of ink everytime and try to forward plan but I work with publications and have to print out a fair amount of PDFs every week.

Perhaps she only does a stationary order once a month? I don't think a week is long to wait at all.

Perhaps this will be seen as not very helpful advice but how about looking for something which is more local?
If you look for previous posts by the OP, you'll see that getting another job is something that has been suggested / recommended in the past. This is not a healthy environment to work in, and the expenses are only part of the problem, but for some reason the OP persists.

It is quite simple, I dont blame you for not wanting to put all this money on expenses. Not everyone has this amount of disposable income, and for the company not to deal with it is unfair. In fact I was in a similar position some years ago now, where my expenses were way over my income every month, including hotel bills for the hotel company I worked for!!!! I persisted and persisted for a company credit card, and eventually left their employ, having been paid my expenses finally, the day later they were in administration, and I would have been lucky to see anything otherwise.

You sit down with your CEO or your direct manager, and you explain that your monthly income and outgoings does not support you being able to support this, and look for alternatives (I seem to remember you work for Govt - well most gov departments and indeed most big companies book travel through a travel desk or business travel agent - so you shouldnt have to fork that part out....printing - get two cartridges now, and then order the next one when you only have one left in stock...etc...etc. You need to manage it. I had to shell out £1K of expenses recently as my corporate card bounced, not enough limit, I had the money back within the week as the company thought that was the right thing to do, it's not my bill after all..! Then you manage the odds and sods on an expense form e.g. mileage claims
  • why not suggest the company sets up an account with a stationery supplier such as Viking Direct
and each employee orders their own items ( up to an agreed limit) and the invoice goes to head office for payment?
this is a very simple thing to do - our charity has been using this system for almost 16 years and with no problems

Why should someone give an interest free loan to a company to do their job? Whole expenses system is a farce. Regular and predictable expenses should be paid by the company in advance - fuel card would solve fuel purchase problems.
