Query when Using Tesco clubcard Vouchers

I want to return an item that I bought using clubcard vouchers (Double-up) so handed in £10 vouchers for £20 product but they will only give me £10 back on a gift card and not re-instate my £10 worth of vouchers to use at another time. This seems odd because I now feel I have to either keep the unwanted product or lose half the value of my clubcard points. All I really want is my vouchers to be re-instated. :( Anyone else had the same problem?

  • That seems fair as you can spend a gift card on anything and so they should only let you have the original £10 value of the vouchers. However I would have thought they may be able to let you exchange for £20 value if the new item was in the same department/area was that an option?

I'm not saying the £10 on a giftcard if I wanted one is unfair,I'm saying why don't they re-instate my £10 of card card vouchers, which C/S said they wouldn't do.The warning I would give to other people is make sure you don't want to return anything that you bought using Clubcard Vouchers.

I have a similar circumstance. I ordered a coat using £10 clubcard vouchers ...doubled up value £20 which was cost of coat. The coat is now out of stock and order has been cancelled so I have asked what happens to my vouchers. Havent had a reply yet though
  • you could always phone up or write to clubcard and explain what happend and they might refund your vouchers
  • I found this forum while searching for an answer to the same question. I have also since found Tesco's T&Cs for the Big Clubcard Exchange, which unfortunately does state, "Any refunds for purchases made using Exchange tokens will be equivalent to the Clubcard voucher value originally exchanged."

This does seem unfair... Certainly puts me off ordering a pair of £45 boots which I haven't tried on!!
