'Dormant' Credit Cards

I have a couple of credit card accounts that are active but with zero balances owing. Just wondered what is the best thing to do? should I leave them as they are in case I need to use them in future ( and save the hassle of making a new application), or should I cancel them?
They are cards with a total credit limit of about £14000, I am not likely to need this amount of credit but I may want to utilise a balance transfer in the future. If I apply for a new card with a 0% transfer rate will the existance of these dormant cards cause a problem with the application due to me having a considerable amount of available credit even though there is nothing owing on them? (ie will it adversly influence my acceptance for a new card, or will it adversly influence the level of new credit granted?)
Thanks

I'm sure there are knowledgeable people out there who have advised before about these kind of issues. Apparently it is a more complicated situation that looks at your available credit vs credit used, with reference to your general credit history and what amount you currently owe as a percentage of your income.
I have seven credit cards with combined limits of £72k, but (only!) have a combined total balance of £13.5k owing, with two of those cards currently empty. I've just been accepted for another 0% card, so I think there is no definitive answer to your query.0
