HSBC, Wescot & Lowell are ganging up on me! HELP!

Lowell Portfolio I Ltd have added an account to my credit report stating I owe money on a credit card/store card which defaulted 10/01/2002. They have my correct first name, surname and address, but they have added initials I don't have! The entry is below with personal details blanked for obvious reasons!

When I spoke to them they said it was for an HSBC account I had. This account was in joint names with my ex-husband. He took out a loan to be repaid from the joint account, then removed himself from the account and left me and the kids.(LOSER!)

Anyways, long story short, HSBC said I owed the money, passed it to Wescot Credit and I paid monthly installments of £65 and finally cleared the debt in August 2006.

Lowell are phoning me every couple of days telling me I need to pay them. I have told them the HSBC account has been cleared with Wescot, they asked me to send the letter from Wescot stating it was paid, which I have done 3 times. They say they never received it, and that if I don't pay they will take me to court. :mad: :eek:

I have phoned HSBC and Wescot who have told me my accounts are cleared and closed, no money owing to them. What can I do? I have had months of Lowell ringing me and I want them off my back! I don't owe them anything, and I don't want them on my credit report!

PLEASE HELP!!

did you sent it by recorded delivery? if so you should have proof that they've received it *hugs* don't stress you'll get it sorted

No, stupidly I didn't. I have spoken to Wescot today who are sending me another letter with details of the full amount paid and the date it was settled, so I will forward this to Lowell by recorded delivery so they can't say they never got it!
