Hi there, I've been lurking for a while reading the forums not because I am in debt but because I never want to go back.

I hope my story give those hope that you can get out of debt.

Ok so it started 11 years ago, my ex partner and I sold our house in the boom made 30k profit each and I spent like I'd never spent before 25 years old with 30k in my pocket you would! I liked the lifestyle I had got a partner who also liked it and so when the money ran out we got loans, lots of loans, top up loans cc you name it I got it, soon I was was 45k in debt.

I had to move back home, dumped the partner and started the long slow rise out of debt.

I moved home.
I stopped having a life
I paid every penny I could towards the debt.
Every payrise I had the 'extra' went toward the debt.
I paid one CC off so started using the cash to pay the next one and so on and so forth.
Then when all cards were paid off I started to save the money.
Five years ago finally was able to afford to rent my own flat,

For 8 years I lived on my 2000 salary meaning I had about £20 a week to myself.

I was finally debt free in February this year and this year have saved so far an amzing £4000 that was previously going to loans and cc over the years.

So aged 36 now I've just married and am now very happy.

So it can be done.
