Catalogue Account Minimum Payment Help Needed

Hi everyone, I was wondering if I can get some help with out catalogue account.
I have recently discovered that my husband has been neglecting to pay out catalogue account and we have been getting debt letters from them. We own them about £1500 and it hasn't been paid since August
I have taken the matter into my hands and I am now wondering what I can do about it.
We are unable to pay the minimum payments on the account and I have written them a letter but do I start paying by postal order or can I pay online the amount I have told them in the letter?
Thanks in advance

Can you give us information which catalogue your hubby has. I would write to them explaining circumstances why your hubby not been paying, if they are in both names that is ok, otherwise he would have to give written permission for you to speak on his behalf, I would pay by postal order in case any problems with the bank, if you have any other debts so to speak.. or struggling to make ends me, I would do a soa so most people can help you to save money.
My hubby did the same thing, it went from £40.00 to £320.00 in a short space of time, as they will applied administration charges. plus they will send the debt to their debt collection department., good luck, l would send at least a £1.00 token or the amount you said in your letter.0 -
It's a Very account, part of Shop Direct.
I've done an SOA already in the Debt Diaries.
So pay £20 by postal order and send it with the letter?
Thanks lindaann0 -
Good luck with Very, iv been having a tone of problems with them the last few months, so much so i managed to raise the money needed to pay them off and shut down my acount. Great feeling.0

You can pay by cheque also, if you have a cheque book.
I pay online, even with arrears/payment arrangement, they dont seem to store card details and even better if you have verified by Visa etc.
They can be a !!!!!! to deal with. especially in writing. If they ignore you but cash your payment, send them a formal written complaint sent signed for, they can't ignore that easily.

thanks happy_bunny thats been a great help.
How do I set up this verified by Visa thing? Never heard of it *led a sheltered life*0 -
If you have a Visa card and you use it online, it'll probably nag you to set up the verified by visa thing. Not sure if its for all banks, but certainly is for barclays and first direct:beer:0
