That has happened in some councils, Southampton and Shropshire IIRC."There's no such thing as Macra. Macra do not exist."

White Horse; Lets see you take a class of disfunctional teenagers for 21k a year and see how good you are at dodging the garden fork thrown at you0

Many of those I work with are well on the way to be institutionalised or joining the benefits system long term - I rekon I save you a fortune for every one of them I manage to move from being prospectless and unemployable to being employable and having some sort of vocational future even if its something fairly menial. Not all public sector staff are coining it in on fat cat wages, its a struggle for some of us. I've worked in private and public sector, private sector paid me well but once that job was gone I took whatever job I could do, first farm work then this. I didn't sit down and plan it all out and with hindsight I'd certainly have done things differently. As granny told me, if we were all wise there would be no fools
and what about all the ones you don't help? seems that if you get them off the dole, you are a genius, but if they go on it, they were heading that way anyway. typical public sector - no downside. only the success is measured. No failure.0 -
White Horse...what's it like on job Seekers?
Maybe it is you that needs to get off your ars.e and earn a living rather then moaning about others.0 -

The difficult, I do, Miracles, call in Jesus
Lets see you do it
Can't you see the saving your getting as a tax payer if even 1 person a year ends up getting employed and in the private sector compared to say keeping them in Jail or permanently on benefits?0 -

Who's 'we'?
I, and I alone will decide whether something I want is 'nice to have' or 'needed' thank you very much.0 -

Current Public Sector employment in the UK = 6 million (approx)
So you want the UK government to sack 6 million people and rehire 40% of them, adding 3.6 million people (and their families) to the welfare system.
Administration of sackings?
Employment tribunals?
60% of schools and hospital staff to be laid off?
Unemployment through the roof?
How will this help the private sector take up the slack to provide the necessary 3.6 million jobs for those people?
What would you like to see the UK government do with the money saved by doing this? Pay down the defecit? Lower taxes? Then what?0 -

Rehire them all on new lower salary and benefit levels.......
That way the burden is evenly spread.0
