Car registration-who is it registered to?

I'm wondering if there is a way I can trace the owner of a vehicle. I have the reg number and it isn't doing anything illegal motoringwise but I would like to know who it belongs to. Any way I can find out at little or no cost?

DVLA can[STRIKE] give[/STRIKE] sell you the details of the owner of a car if you are a person with a reasonable entitlement to those details. From what you have put, you do not fall into that category so no, you cannot access those details legally.

As far as I know you can't! I had a problem with a car that was blocking our road on a morning last year. I couldn't contact the owner so called the police. They said they'd sort it after I gave them the regristration plate(they did!) but I asked if they could just tell me who it belonged to but they told me they couldn't release the info to me.

I don't think the DVLA will give the details of a car owner who has a car parked on a drive with the occupiers consent.

Tell your brother to move on.
