DHL actually do very little in terms of admin and already make money from the carriage. There is no practical alternative to handling the VAT, unless one lives close to East Midlands airport.

My bugbear is how they exploit the situation and put the admin fee up over three times instead of in-line with inflation. If everyone took your attitude, commerce would totally fleece the consumer. Are you sure you're on the right board?

no practical alternative? are you stating a fact or have you simply not looked into it?
