christmas stocking for 16 month boy

Hi everyone, just wondered if anyone has any idea on a few bits n pieces I can put in my little nephews stocking. He will be 16 and a half months at christmas. I already have him a toy present and will likely get him pjs and some vests. This is his 2nd christmas, last year I did a stocking with jars of baby food, teethers, rattles etc. I dont want to spend a fortune so just some little bits but cant think. Thanks in advance :)

Yes he will have a stocking at his own home but also has a stocking at my house as well. Very spoilt boy! A personalised bauble is lovely, something that can be used year after year.

chunky cars, some of those mini board books, possibly a children's CD/ DVD, maracas (mum might not like you though!), plastic animals/dinosaurs, mittens/hat (can never have too many), colouring book and crayons, toy mobile phone (they all seem to love these) and a small amount of chocolate/sweetie but not too much as he's bound to have loads.
  • How about some baby biscotti? Cow and gate do them in a little pack that should easily fit in a stocking (ASDA / Tesco /Sainsburys and some £1shops)
Sainsburys own car range are lovely, we got DS some for his first birthday and he still loves them at nearly 2. They are a good price too which helps.
How about a bath toy character he likes (Thomas characters are in Tesco at £2.50 - my son loves bathing with "choo choo James" :D)
Small board book sets? I got a Looney tunes (Tweety, Bugs etc) one from a £1 shop. It contains 4 board books in a little box, perfect for stockings.
What about a wash mit / magic flannel or squashy washy? They can be found in Homebargains and most supermarkets in the wash aisle.

He'll definitely love that they're a a big hit with every toddler I know - I've read four of them only today!

My son is slightly older at 18 months, but I've got him (from what I can remember):

    A ball
a rucksack (so that he can take some toys out when we go places)
Xmas socks (I've seen some in Tesco's for £2, although I got mine in Primark in Jan for next to nothing)
A flask with his name on
    Some books (from the poundshop)
A Xmas plate and bowl from the Poundshop (because they are plastic)
PJ's to wear on Xmas Eve.

I also plan on starting a new tradition of giving him a new Xmas decoration every year so that when he moves out and gets his own tree, he will have his own childhood decorations. Some of them I plan on making e.g. crochet snowflakes. When' he's older, he can help choose his decoration or make it himself.

Forgot to add, some of the stuff I will be putting in his Xmas Eve hamper e.g. PJ's and socks and the Xmas decoration.
