Old Pensions

I must admit that I have been a bit lax through my younger years and not really taken much notice of my pensions as I thought I would deal with it later!! Anyway later has now come along and although I have been paying into a pension scheme with my current employers for around 5 years - I would like to know if there is a way of tracking old pensions that I paid into with old employees - that I then stopped paying into when I left.
I think that I may have 3 or four pension schemes like this that I would like to track down??
Cany anybody advise?
Thanks

You need to track down your old employers
If you have a pension with them they will be able to tell you.
Also they will be obliged to honour it as well.
You need to do some groundwork in this but my rule of thumb is not to cash them in as they are a done deal.
I am unaware of anyway you can track down this info without writing letters.

always quote your NI number when you write to them. The NI is a known search method. So, if you address has changed etc, they will at least match up the NI number.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). Have a look here, Martin has listed a free provider that can search for your old pension scheme;
