Defrosted cherries have turned brown.

Options
Hi,
I froze some cherries off our tree earlier this year (I left the stones in). I've just defrosted them and they have turned brown, is this normal? Will they still be okay to use? I was just going to try and make this cake with them...

Hoping one of you lovely old stylers will be along to help soon :)
Thanks!

    Hi,

I'm sure they will be fine, have you tried one. I bet they are okay.

Our carrots turn brown as well, I just assumed its something technical to do with the freezing and defrosting stages.
  • Thanks Linda32, have tried one and they taste okay :)

Will go and give the cake a try, but if it turns out bad will still blame the cherries (of course it can't be my lack of cooking skills :rotfl: )

  • It is always best to stone cherries before you freeze them, but I am sure they will be ok. I froze some in syrup 2 years ago and they had no discolouration, so maybe that is the best way to freeze cherries.
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light
