, it can readily be seen that prices are falling in all but one region of the UK.

Not checked the figures, but wondering if by the above definition it can be said that prices are rising in all regions?

Remember there are lies, damn lies and statistics.

The fact that the same stats are being used to prove totally different view points just shows the absurdity of it all.

The published stats are fairly clear, there are no significant movements, but on balance the report has more falls than rises, with a huge number of basically stable prices. Given that current Y-o-Y figures are close to flat thats hardly a surprise.

We are currently in fairly stagnent times with prices, up a bit, down a bit.

Some would claim we are bumping along the bottom, others would say we are about to crash again.

This recession and the government/global reaction has been different to past experiances, theres a lot more at stake now than house prices withthe whole Euro thing looking crazier and crazier every day.

What happens next to house prices depends on so much thats out of the UK government control. If the Euro crisis causes a run or even a crash of a bank then it could trigger another big downward spiral.

Or we could get though the Euro problems and see prices start to rise again.

This is so much more than just basic supply/demand/finance within the UK.

    .

    My view exactly.

Some seem to try and gain points (thanks) based on their interpretation or focus on a set of figures to justify their predictions and don't take the overall data in context.

As you say, were in a state of nominal stagnation, so no point in getting to bothered about the stats and their direction.

    Wonder no more light.
The answer is a rather obvious "no".
