I wanna buy an Ipad

Hi all,

As the title says, I am looking for an Ipad for a xmas present.

Does anyone know of any deals around (don't really want to spend £400 on it)

Thanks

If you want apple products then you have to pay apple prices as no legit versions are discounted.

i just bought one on line yesterday through Tesco black 16gb wifi £399.00 but they have £20 off at the moment on all electrical items when you spend over £200 so i got it for £379.00 with free p&p untill end Nov.

if you order before 3pm you get next day delivery i didnt order till after 3pm so its due tomorrow.

i would add ive been trawling the net for weeks as its a gift for my dd for christmas there is one cheaper on the auction site but i wouldnt spend that kind of money on there.

m&s are doing same price £399 but with 2 yrs warranty as has bee said they seem to only be sold at the same price everywhere.

They're not really discounted anywhere. Your best bet is a voucher such as the Tesco one that hmo has mentioned or cashback - Viking pay 9% through Quidco, which swayed me to buy an iPad from them recently. Cashback tracked no problem, so I'm hopeful there should be no issues in getting the money back.
Started comping for 2012. Won: iPad 2 - thanks SueMaggie; 10,000 Tesco Clubcard Points - thanks Maybe1; HABA Terra Kids Construction Set - thanks purplevamp.

i looked at the viking deal of 9% but when i read the small print it said it was only 2.2% on apple products and the item was out of stock but i think that was through top cash back.

as far as i am aware you get the cash back off the item price before vat which would be £30 and i assume quidco will take a commission is it £5 so net would give you £25?

how long do you have to wait to get that back?

ive never used sites like that before, i got my £20 off instantly with tesco.

would be interested to know for future purchases
  • it depends on retailer but cashback on quidco usually takes anywhere between 3 weeks and 3 months to be paid

ok thank you i will remember that for future.

ordered my ipad2 on tuesday afternoon it was delivered this morning, could have had it yesterday if i had ordered before 3 on tuesday but i still think 2 days is great service.

opened and installed updates and apps and some music all appears fine have now put it away as its a christmas present for my dd.

It's ironic beause you're on a money saving forum. iPads, to my knowledge, don't do anything useful. they created a use for themselves that doesn't, IMHO, add to quality of life.

I'd spend that 400 on a vacation or something that would enhance your everyday life.

EDIT: I'm not trying to be mean, I'm just trying to mention that in a few weeks after buying your iPad there's a high chance you'll forget about it and the buzz will be gone. I've learnt this from experience (friend bought one)

Is he selling it then? ;)

I'll start the bidding at £5 :rotfl:
