Reclaiming tax? How far can you go back?

I sent in the uniform rebate recently and they must have looked at the tax at the same time. I got an overpayment of tax, is 06/07 period the furthest it will go? Which is 5 years ago?

05/06 is the latest you can currently go back :-

Unless you completed Self Assessment Tax Returns in which case the earliest is 07/08

Did you actually pay tax in 05/06? That is the first thing you need to establish, no tax paid = no tax relief.
