Can a supply teacher get a contractor mortgage?

I was wondering whether a supply teacher could get a mortgage at all? I was also wondering if a Supply teacher could get a contractor mortgage seeing as work can be long or short term? Does anyone know where I would be best to try to get a mortgage?

    Hi
I'm having the same problem - did you manage to get a mortgage?

    Hi

If you have a running contract in the same field all the time (I assume as a teacher it is in a same field), the answer should be YES.

I am an IT contractor as well and currently going through a mortgage process with contractormoney.com (Contractor Financials Ltd). They seem to be okay so far.

I would suggest you give them a call and see how it goes.

Hi there, no I still have not managed to get a mortgage yet but I have met with a Mortgage Advisor who has put things in a more positive light so there could be a chance.

Thanks for your advice harvey115 but I don't have a running contract, it's just what I might be offered by the Local Authorities and that can vary throughout the year, sometimes.

I thought I would just update this question, I have now got a mortgage as a supply teacher and got the keys this week. It was a normal mortgage though, not a contractor one. So, to answer my question, it can be done but I used an excellent mortgage advisor. :)
  • Hi XJX,
    Who was your financial advisor?
Can you provide the contact details?
    Thank you,
