Council tax arrears - advice needed...

-
I have council tax arrears too.
Last year they sent me a statement which i didn't understand, had figures from previous years etc and was asking me to pay less than what i do monthly. I ignored it as i knew it had to be wrong and carried on paying my monthly amount.
Last week i got a court summons for £1400. I called them and they told me i owed £2100. They said they would send a calculation sheet so i knew how they'd worked it all out, instead they sent a 2nd demand for payment (for £800 this time), otherwise they'll take me to court! I didnt get a first demand and they're already taking me to court
Im just going next week to court with all my confusing letters, all of which show different amounts and let them deal with it.Lightbulb moment Dec 2005 - debt £23700
June 2010 - £17984.210
