  • We had to do this, the vicar doesnt give out the forms, you can print them off online or when you call to make the appointment at the registry office they can send them to you. We felt it was important to do because we were only young when we had our first child and he took my surname but that has now been changed on his birth certificate without the need for a change of name by deed poll. We were told it is also important to do as children after marriage would hold more rights over the children before marriage unless they are re-registered. My name was also changed to my married on name on their birth certificates.

When we gave notice in October 2009, we were given the forms.

We haven't re-registered the little man and won't be doing it at all.

I was Miss C when he was born, that is fact.

I don't want a piece of paper saying otherwise.

The little man has my husbands surname anyway, so I don't see the need to reregister his birth.
