I am just about to go back to work from being off for 4 weeks or so with a slipped disc. I have been paid sick pay from my employer, all well. BUT I wish to finish with this job and get a new one with better pay and more consistent hours.
I can start with new job as soon as I get letter from doctor to say I am fit for work (have been registered with this agency for few months now) BUT they do not pay sick or holiday pay, apparently our holiday pay is paid with our hourly rate.
If I were to go on sick again, would I be able to claim anything? Not saying I will go sick again, but being bad for this long has worried me, and I can't stop thinking of what if's etc.
And I don't think I could go back to my present job, they are so !!!!!y, and the pay is so rubbish, £2.80 per half hr call because of this new log in system...

Check you current pay they may be breaking minimum wage laws.
Check the holiday situation rolled up holiday pay should not be used.
Don't ofrget that holidays are worth 12.07% so if more pay it need to be at least this much better.
You will need to give notice, if you have a job to go to why have you not done this allready0 -

(We do mainly half hour calls, social services pay our company then they pay us for the duration of the time we are at clients home, but the new log in system sucks, I was at a call for half hour, logged in and logged out, 2 doors up went to next call logged in etc, but was only paid for 25 mins at each call because I was less than 2 mins between calls... It sucks!! )
