Rage: Halifax. Credit Report Question

I am absolutely furious with Halifax. I received a letter from credit card services last night telling me they were reducing my credit limit - out of the blue, no reason. Read it once and thought "Pfft, losers, am I bovvered?" I was going to reduce it anyway, but then I got accepted for the Virgin MBNA card so didn't bother as I will BT to 0% in a matter of days anyway. Then I thought, "hang on a minute... why have that shower of idiots reduced my limit and will it affect my credit rating?" So I called them.
I am now more rageful than vesuvius in full flow.
Initially they told me it was because I had missed multiple payments to my card. "Don't be ridiculous" says I "Go and check I have a direct debit for the minimum going in every month not to mention the fact that I overpay in addition to that, oh, and before you ask I went through my payments at the weekend so I know I haven't missed any." Off they trot to ask their manager. "Oh no Melou (excuse me, its Miss Melou to you), its because there is a problem with one of your other accounts". Right. I have 1 dormant account, 1 account that is 51p in credit while I start pursue the bank charges (not started yet) and 1 account that went into arrears once last November because I didn't realise that when I transferred my mobile phone direct debit to my new current account it didn't transfer my phone insurance. By the time I transferred money in to cover it Halifax had imposed 4 separate charges of £39 meaning a further transfer to bring the account back into the limit. And for this, they have declared me a deliquent payer to credit card services and have used the excuse that they are doing this because they have a policy of being a responsible lender.
Rage. Rage. Rage.
I am beyond angry - way beyond it.
I cannot wait to sort out all my statements now - I'm writing to them to demand copies of charges on both accounts today and then I am going to get every single penny back. How dare they. How responsible is it to charge me £156 in a matter of days when I was trying to resolve the issue?
Do you think this will damage my credit report? I've only just managed to get it to a decent level.
TIA

any bank will review the credit available due to charges on another account & any bank will charge for a missed direct debit and unauthorised overdraft - you can ask for them back0

 I've just opened my parachute account with the Halifax while I get my bank charges back off Abbey. I hope they treat me with a bit more respect - tho I doubt it all banks seem to be the same. Customer service seems to be an alien concept.I have plenty of willpower - it's won't power I need.
