last year for my sister I used a word cloud maker thing
this one:
http://www.wordle.net/create and then bought a frame from poundland which I then decorated, you can do any words which relate to the person they are for. It came out really well and she loved it. you could do it for anyone.


and homemade sweets are awesom gifts, you can use any jars you have laying around and make up your own pretty labels to stick on them or use selophane to wrap them in with a bow to tie it off..

bath bombs are pretty easy to make as are hand scrubs. and home made flavoured vodka! buy cheap vodka and run it thourgh a brita filter or something similar a couple of times (makes it taste paint stripper ish) then add in 'flavourings' Ive seen fruity ones, chocolate (you can then remove the chocolate which remains and use it in adult cookies!) fudge, toffee pepermint!... leave it stood for a few days (the longer the better but obviously times against us now) give it a bit of a shake occasionally and strain through a cloth or similar (baby muslins are fab for this!) then decant into small bottles.. yum.
