I'm wondering where this sizeable increase came from, unless it's just a rebound from the previous falls. Maybe it's just house prices keeping up with other costs, such as food, fuel etc. The only thing not keeping up is wages, so it seems.

    Something's got to give.

Monthly changes are just noise, nothing more.

It's a bit like the freak 3% fall in one month....which has had this index all but written off....until today that is. Now it's OK again!

Another month of hard working families being forced to feed from the dry sour teat of buy to let perverts. Another month of the boomer resting comfortably on the feather bed of others toil, another month of simple dreams of the home life and security of remembered childhoods torn from the breasts of the dispossessed, and disenfranchised; unable to even hang a picture or plan a year ahead in their "homes".

    Sickening.

HBOS sees some hope in an increase of 8% in sales over the last quarter (seasonally adjusted) but to my mind that's clutching at straws.

That's the only data in the report guaranteed to be 100% accurate.

Very important data it is too.
