I've found stainless steel rings in the style we want here. It would be very MSE but I can't find much information about them. Has anyone else had stainless steel wedding rings? Does anyone know more about them or if they are durable enough for everyday wear? Thank you.

Oooh ooooh, I've got one!!
Never posted on this board before but got married in June. My e-ring is platinum, and being MSE through and through I nearly had a heart attack at the prices of platinum bands.
I'd read about stainless steel rings online - someone had mentioned them as stand-in rings for travelling. I think my 2mm band cost a grand total of about £4 including postage and is very comfortable. I can't tell the difference between it and my plat e-ring, even if I REALLY try. A casual observer would never know.
I love it!! Very durable - over the months it has "weathered" with tiny micro-scratches, so it's not as super-duper shiny as it was. I like this look as it looks softer to me and not so "I'm NEW, I'm NEW".

I thought if your engagement ring was platinum that was what the wedding ring had to be as platinum is the hardest metal and anything else would damage? It's good and very MSE to know that stainless steel works in this case :jForty and fabulous, well that's what my cards say....0 -
As far as I know, it should be fine. I think where you really have to worry is maybe where you have diamonds or something which would scratch.
My e-ring is a solitaire, so the 2 plain bands are together. I prob wouldn't put really soft gold next to it thoughbut I reckon stainless steel has got to be pretty hard too.
I certainly haven't noticed any damage at all.
Very MSE indeed!
