Zebra costume (South West)

Hi there,
Hoping someone can help me.... You see, I need a zebra costume. It doesn't matter what size - from small child to big adult, I'll get a [STRIKE]victim[/STRIKE] willing volunteer to wear it- it's to generate publicity to promote a road-safety project we're doing in school. If at all possible I'd like it to be, preferably
easy/cheap/free (I have my usual budget of £0 and 0p)
entertaining
the more convincing the better....
I'm thinking of approaching all the local fancy dress agencies in the area tomorrow, to see what I can scrounge from any of them - but if anyone has a contact or name of someone that I can use, that would be greatly appreciated.
I also have a helpful art and textiles teacher who might be pressganged into helping out, but she's very overworked, and if I can avoid adding to her woes, that would be better.
I've looked on the net and bookmarked a couple of DIY projects, and also scoured eBay:eek: not much there I'd want to take into work if I want to keep my reputation intact:). I will also give freecycle a try, but I know it's a long shot. Any ideas gratefully received.
Thanks
