You say that, but apparently loads of people had abused the system previously to get a free trip to London! Might explain why TIS got scrapped and replaced with a discretionary pot of money.

In my case, the leap of faith my advisor took paid off as going for that interview got me off benefits! Still very grateful to that lovely lady.
    they did? Oh opps

I never knew it was scrapped till I looked at that link - the Job Centre told me you could claim so guess that's been in the last year

I have never claimed travel for interviews.

I hope you get the fare Ric but what about living in London to work its so bloomin expensive. My son works there and most of his ( large) salary goes on rent. There also seems to be a shortage of affordable housing in London too. However the job may be worthwhile in pay.

It was a couple of years ago, but I got a travel warrant to go to London from Brighton, I had to give them proof of the interview and the contact details of the interviewer who they said they would ring in a few weeks time to check I'd attended. I've no idea if they still do this kind of thing now though.

Recently my OH asked for it when he was unemployed: the Job centre said they would pay by cash into my OHs account. He needed to show proof of interview ( think he took a printed copy of the email to the Job centre)
The interview was 2 days later and the night before the company cancelled the interview.

However OH had still not recieved the cash from the Job centre, it arrived about 3 weeks after the time the interview should have been, when OH gave it back to them.

If you can : get a warrant unless you have eg a credit card to use or being without that money for a while woul make you struggle :o
 Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
    This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast

Maybe they could, but if they're entitled to their travel expenses back why dip into money which they don't know how long they need to make last?
