Hi
last week I posted that I was transferring my egg card to a 0% mint card, however this week egg have decided to take a credit card protection payment of £29 which has taken me over my limit, I am furious as I asked them to cancel this last year. They had better not charge me for going over limit. I have written them to tell them off but I am worried I won't get my money back
anyone have any experience of this?

Egg are comming up with some really underhand tactics. I did my anniversary 0% balance transfer - for which there is now a fee - and they are charging interest on the transfer fee!I have plenty of willpower - it's won't power I need.

OMG thats terrible, I have had some probs with them recently they didn't give me a 0% offer, they uped my interest rate by 6% and this sneaky protection payment, I did tell them I was goin gto leave because they wouldn't reduce my interest so maybe thats why they did it, grrr

I cancelled my card last week and asked for confirmation in writing. Was told I would be sent an email - still waiting.
Did they confirm that you had cancelled the CCP plan? When I did this with Halifax they sent a confirmation in writing.
Call or e mail Egg to complain immediately - good luck0 -
I haven't got around to the anniverary deal, my account will be cleared by then, so I think I'll close it - thanks for the warnings.0
