No, I'm a real sad person :rotfl:
I used to treat myself to a chinese takeaway once a fortnight and even that has gone!
I bake my own bread, take homemade sandwiches to work, get my hair done unbelievably cheaply at the local college hairdressing section, and buy clothes from charity shops. I've recently left Vodafone and their tenner a month SIM free deal, and now spend just £5.00 a month to run my phone with GiffGaff (I wish I'd done that sooner)
Laughing aside, I'm pretty proud of myself, and if I'm really good, I'll have saved up enough for a little holiday overseas next year with my grown up daughter (without being ultra careful, that would never happen, and I've not had a break for over 3 years)
I can't believe how much money I used to waste, and of course, stopping smoking summer 2010 has helped greatly

Well done on giving up the cigs, I know how hard it can be! Money that would previously be going up in smoke can now be invested for the future.
A couple of good sites for your research - www.monevator.com and www.fool.co.uk (you may appreciate their 'living below your means' discussion board)
Good luck!We have a climate emergency and need to re-think investing strategies to avoid sectors that are part of the problem such as oil & gas and embrace climate-friendly options such as renewable energy.0 -
Thank you

No you are not. I used to eat out once in 3 months or so, cooked ALL my meals, had my landlady's daughter cut my hair for a Fiver (she was using my hair as 'experience' to get a job) and used to have the cheapest phone money could buy and never made any calls without using the office phone.....all this when I was about 26 so remember, anything you SAVE money does not make you sad, it makes you SMART coz all that you save now is there in hand to be used when you need it most
You just got back on the train after making a long detour, but keep at it from here on!0 -

Not too sad, bur you could cut down to takeouts to once a month like me lol. But really you have done the things I suggested but I had to say them because most don't even think how much cheaper making a sandwich is than buying one (been doing this 15 years or more lol).0
