I have contacted BT about changing my system and featureline compact seems the best deal. However BT advises me to get the featureline compact BT phone... obviously and at £79 each excluding VAT ( I need two ) with the installation of £170 its's adding up!
I would like to know if anyone suggests another phone over this or if anyone can give me reviews? I'm happy to pay it if it is the best and I probably will use all the features.
BT Shop is on Quidco at 4% as well
Dabs 3% £65!

I would advise looking outside BT. You may well find a local telecoms firm that can supply and fit for a far better price than BT. My husband is a telecoms engineer and always beats BT prices (unfortunately we live in Surrey - a bit too far!), and he also spends a lot of time going around cleaning up after BTs mistakes! What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0

REALLY? I didn't know anyone could install that kinda stuff? I thought BT would need to install to line to activate it..?
Any suggestions who to look for any advice to avoid cowboys? Your husband can't help me in Brighton could he? lol What price would he charge?Help me to help you :santa2:0 -
Featureline isn't the same as a phone system as there isn't any additional equipment fitted in your premises so another supplier won't be able to supply featureline for you. As far as i know you don't need featureline phones to use it as any touchtone phone will let you work it?0

Wow, no wonder these sold so well when I had them on eBay!
Featureline phones are supposed to make using the setup easier, as they have the functions pre-programmed, but according to BT's website (http://www.productsupport.bt.com/featureline/)you don't have to use them, any phone with Recall, Star(*) and Hash(#) keys is OK.
It might be worth looking at places like eBay; I don't have these any more unfortunately, but someone else out there might.0 -
Sorry I took so long to come back - I lost the post!! It wasn't the featureline I was referring to, sorry if that was unclear, it was the system. Anyway, it is not only BT that can supply and fit telephone systems - the line provider does need to put the line in and they should then turn it on at the exchange - what goes on at your end is entirely up to you. You will find a lot of local small companies who can fit systems for you, if you decide to buy one yourself from anywhere, just make sure you ask someone if it will do what you want it to do. My husband has fitted a system provided by the customer before now.
It is surprising the amount of people that still think that only BT can fit extension points or phone systems, and then my husband has to go and clean up after them! What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0
