Anyone got a touchpad they can recommend a case and a car charger please.

Not sure if this should be in the I wanna buy it or do it section, posted here as i thought more likely to get a response.

Could i use the 12v charger i use with my htc phone which also uses the same connector ?

Thanks

Charger - only the proper Touchpad one will be recognise and charge the Touchpad quickly, everything else will cause the Touchpad to complain that it will charge more slowly, but ANY micro USB charger that fits will work. The warning can be disabled with a patch I think. Just use any old car charger then unless you find yourself running out of juice.
I've got the official case and I can't really see it being improved upon, and I'm sure the £20 it ended up retailing for is worth it rather than the original £40.

I've got the official case too, it works great as a multi-position stand and doesn't add any bulk to the TouchPad but other than that, I hate everything about it! There's no closure system (I use a piece of wide haberdashery type elastic) and I find that after just a few months, the areas where it is handled a lot show signs of wear, it's also now deforming in the area of the on/off button (I'm not the only one with that issue) It's black and boring and I find the texture horrible :p I don't think it's worth the £20 I paid for it, let alone the £40 pre-sale price.

I've seen on another forum that quite a few people seem to be very happy with that cover by Poetic: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Poetic-TouchPad-Adjustable-Compatible-Touchstone/dp/B005J064XS/ref=pd_cp_ce_1

Edit: some people have also reported success using iPad 1 cases. They're not quite exactly the same size though, and apparently some fit better than other so it's recommended to go to a shop with the TouchPad and see if you can try the cases.

Edit 2: I think I'm going to send HP an email and tell them how disappointed I am with their cover - it shouldn't look that bad after less than 3 months use.
