Argh! Greasy coloured hair!

My hair is dyed but for the past couple of months my hair has been getting really greasy the day after I wash it. It's like I could fry chips on my hair!
I've tried various shampoos for coloured hair (as I don't want to wash the colour out of my hair) but does anyone know of a shampoo for greasy hair that is coloured?
I've tried Loreal for coloured hair, herbal essences and Happy Hair Days for Coloured hair and they all make my hair greasy.:(
I don't mind spending more money on a good shampoo if it means that it'll sort my hair out. I only condition the ends of my hair so don't think that's contributing to the oily hair problem but the oil is making my hair look really flat.
I try to wash my hair every other day but because I have health problems it can be a bit hard sometimes.
Thank you in advance,

Are you going through "the change" by any chance?
PS: HAve you tried Tigi Bedhead?"One day I realised that when you are lying in your grave, it's no good saying, "I was too shy, too frightened."
Because by then you've blown your chances. That's it."0 -
My hair is naturally greasy, LM. I find that a very light wash, not massaging scalp, works for me.Member #14 of SKI-ers club
Words, words, they're all we have to go by!.

I hope not. I'm only 24!
No, I haven't. Will check it out online now. xpollypenny wrote: »My hair is naturally greasy, LM. I find that a very light wash, not massaging scalp, works for me.
Thank you. I had this problem during my teens but then it went away, and now it's back again!2019 Wins

To be honest, all shampoos strip colour out of our hair - the ones that are designed for coloured hair merely have more silicones in them to give shine.
You say that you have health problems, could it be linked?
You also said that you had a similar thing going on a few years ago, what was happening then that is happening now?
Change in meds or diet?
Change in hair dye maybe?Stone walls do not a prison make, nor iron bars a cage.0 -

I have M.E. Not sure if it's linked or not, to be honest.:o
During my teens I had the whole hormone thing going on so I had extremely oily skin and hair. I'm not sure if that's going on at the moment.:o
I take Quetiapine which is an anti-psychotic. It can have an effect on periods. It hasn't affected my periods but if it can screw them up then it wouldn't seem unfeasible that it can do something to the body's hormones, which in effect may make my hair, in turn, go greasified.
I've always used the same hair dye.

I have very greasy dyed hair. I am using Liz Earle shampoo which is very gentle and does not seem to strip the colour from my hair as quickly as other shampoos.
Have you tried dry shampoo for days when you do not want to wash your hair? Mine really needs to be washed daily, but I must confess sometimes I will tie my hair back in a ponytail and just wash the fringe0 -
I can definitely recommend dry shampoo (batiste is good or superdrug's own brand).
I used to get very greasy hair the day after washing but I have gradually 'trained' my hair to go for longer by using dry shampoo on the very greasy roots. I can now go about 3 days now between washes using dry shampoo.0 -
Colour shampoos work on your hair being dry from dying - if yours isn't then you really don't need them.
The problem could also be using too strong a shampoo - if your scalp dried out it'll overproduce oils.
But based on the fact you're using ones for coloured hair, I'd just try ones that aren't for coloured hair - I've never noticed it to make a difference anyway!0 -
I have coloured hair too and sometimes because it's more shiny it just looks greasier. I use a bit of dry shampoo (batiste or tresemme are good ones) in between washes to stop the colour fading so quickly with lots of shampoos. Or you could try using a shampoo for fine hair as the conditioning ingredients are less prominent to give volume. Also, only condition the ends and not the roots as that could make them more greasy too. HTH
