What's the rancid sour milk smell coming from my washing load?

Just washed my washing load (inc my lovely pink fleece blanket) in the usual Lenor Orange Blossom, and now it's drying on the radiator, my whole living room smells like rancid sour milk/sick. Has anyone experienced anything like this? How do I get of the awful smell from my clothes? I haven't changed my powder or fabric…

Ah right then, I tend just to use big box powder or tablets in the drawer. If I use liquid it goes in a dispenser ball inside the machine. And softeners are not the least bit necessary round here.
