Am thinking of a few others now....

I also have my Granma's old mixing bowl. No idea how old it is but it's got to be getting on, it's one of those with a flat edge to make it easier for mixing. My dad remembers it being around when he was little.

I also have all of my Granma's old knitting patterns. They date from about 1940 up to the 80's. They're still in constant use.

Also some vases from my Nan, not antique as such but they must be a good 30 or so years old. I kept a couple of them when she died 3 years ago and I love having a little reminder of her in my house, especially as we only moved here this year so she never saw it.

We still regularly make my dad get the old cine projector and films out, they must be knocking on a bit by now.
  • Being only 21 is kind of a downside to this as i've only lived here for 2 years, but i did bring a cup here from my dads house which is the old Magic Roundabout which i use for measuring out cups of flour etc when baking! ive had it since i was 2, so it's from 1992! could be older than that !x

Goals: Save £500 for emergencies, Save £200 of Amazon vouchers for Xmas, fix my holey clothes!

    .

OOOh yes I forgot that, I've got a wartime knitting book...it's got thrifty tips for jumpers in that are knitted with two fronts, so you can reverse them under a little jacket, and have a two for the price of one look to make the most of your knitting wool....I often wonder what happened if you were boiling and HAD to take your jacket off :rotfl:

This got me thinking about the 'oldies' in my house.
Toaster from Mum & Dad which is in daily use & is approx 25 yrs old
Potato peeler from Mum & Dad which dates from my childhood in the 50's
My stainless steel saucepans which date from 1990
Wooden standard lamp which dates from the 50's. It has been rewired.
A small drop leaf table thet sits at the top of my stairs which was bought by my grandparents in the 1920's and is Jacobean so approx 350? years old

I use my Mother's sewing machine which she got as a 21st birthday present in 1954.

I still have my teddy bear which I got as a baby in 1955 and a tablecloth which my Grandma made for her bottom drawer before she married in 1928. That's too precious to use which is silly really as my DDs will probably send it to a charity shop when I'm gone.

Ok one last one from me (before I take over the entire thread:o)

The clock in our living room was a wedding present to my parents - they got married in 1970. I always loved it when I was little and when I bought my first house (on my own) it came with me. OH probably isn't so keen as it is VERY 70's... but hey, I have to put up with his signed football stuff.:rotfl:
