Debt mangement plan

thanks for all the suppot and advice, I was going to to do a DMP with a company who charge, but after reading all your comments I am going with payplan but they are very difficult to contact - any suggestions - i keep waiting for call backs but they dont seem to come??

  • Most of the DMP Companies don't charge the consumer for that service.

Have you tried other than payplan, like CCCS or Myvesta?

I second the CCCS. For a charity they do great work. Absolutley fantastic advice and they have been at the end of the phone when I had a few more queries.

Once I am debt free the CCCS will benefit from a donation from me. they deserve proper government backing.

I'm with Payplan and they are great. However this is probably the worst week in the whole year to get hold of them, all that Christmas debt! You could try CCCS but they are probably busy too.

    Hi,

I'm currently dealing with CCCS and they were able to give me an interview a week after the first phone call which I thought was quite good. Also answer the phone very quickly!
Good luck with it all. I've found it all very stressful this week and hope you get it all sorted quickly.

Sorry shameless, but most of them do charge for this service. CCCS & Payplan are 2 of the very few companies that don't directly charge the customer.

  • I've just started with CCCS. It was so easy as I was able to do the first bit online. I'd been worrying about having to make that first call and bursting into tears or something, so it worked better for me that way. If you've gathered all your debt figures together beforehand, it takes somewhere around half an hour. Then their website generates a booklet explaining about the debt management plan (or whatever they suggest for you).

The next stage was to agree to that. That involved giving my personal details, and now I've got a package of bits through - an agreement to sign, and some other things that they want from me (payslips and bills). It all seems very easy, and so far I've not even needed to talk to anyone!
