Anyone got any MSE tips on stopping carpet sliding on laminate flooring?
My house is bl00dy freezing even though it's a mid terrace, we don't get any sun on it. so being a MSE (tight @rse) I decided to buy and end of roll carpet for £9 instead of a rug for £70+ to try and keep the place a bit warmer. The problem is it's sliding around all over the place even with the couch on it one end and my £1 T's coffee table at the other.
I thought about double sided sticky tape but I don't want to ruin the flooring as the house is rented.
Answers on a postcard please, thank you :rotfl:

on the subject of scanners, the self scan in Hen^g*ove yesterday had an out of order sign on it, lifted sign up and it worked fine. Spoke to one of the staff and he told me there have been a lot of price errors lately so they put the sign up to deter people from checking!!!
been to eastville...the scanner there said for staff only...can we still use that even if it says so?
there's no glitch there..right priced bakugans and moondoughs..no light strikes..no pjs ..no slippers ..no nothing.. even the a4 watercolor papers are priced right:( no bags as well...no trays even..
just managed to get the kelloggs variety but it flew off the shelf so quickly. oh well..0 -
Right am off to bed, not happy about no glitch tuesday ......but tomorrow is another day :T:T:TYNWA JFT96 :A0

Artha, we might take a bit of getting used to but this thread is the end result of us not being wanted on the other discussion thread so when someone wades in on their high horse, acts like the forum police then gives off because the bargains are hard to find, it gets our backs up. We don't claim to be the sole source of tesc0 bargains but I get the feeling more and more are getting fed up with the other threads so this has kinda become the unofficial Ts thread. The Misprice thread 12 still has some chat on it but the real action is on here
I know you commented before on something you posted being OOS when you next looked (instrument tuners I think if I'm thinking of the right person). If you found out that the person who took them was someone who lurked on here, contributed nothing, cleared the shelf, stuck the stuff on eBay then came on here and complained the bargains were hard to spot with all the chat, would you not feel a tad annoyed?
Thread 12 appears to be a bit of a "ghost town" Don't really know what purpose it serves. AS for the tuners, yes it was me, and you are right I was just a bit frustrated but felt on the 11+ thread I could at least vent that frustration.I'm not accusing anyone of anything and my example is maybe a bit extreme (but not beyond the realms of possibilty) but this thread is what it is and nowhere on the forum does it say that bargains from Ts should be posted on one thread only. One of the mods in their wisdom decided to merge multiple threads with different bargains so now everything gets lost. I've given up trying to find & follow that thread. Same goes for the 12 thread. The main Grabbit has become a place a rarely venture into and dare I say it, I now check HUKDs as well  At least over there you have consistency and when deals are posted you know to expect the influx of "where's the receipt" comments. On this forum, there is more of a community spirit but I guess some people seem to want things laid out on a plate for them.Awaiting a new sig0 -

Just back from my DS's parents evening (he is 7).
Pleased to report that he is an absolute star (takes after his mam of course), doing brilliantly, not a bad word was said, and apparently he is being prepared for key stage 2 and 3 (have no idea what this is, it may be a lobotomy, but it sounded good, so nodded and agreed). Also pleased to report me and ex managed to survive without any visible injuries (ha ha ha ha), and he was suitably amenable and pleasant enough for me to warrant giving him 2 treasured 1p trays
Its almost a shame that he'll turn into nightmare ex within a week (pleasant ex never lasts), and i'll have to nick the trays back lol.
Anyway, if we're getting into regional tag teams, is there anyone else in Northwest (a**rington to be precise). I know I have bumped into a couple of lurkers, but feel free to pm, and we can compare note/stash bargains etc
Oh I managed to get the 2 x light striker thingys but being a DTD virgin, I paid by card with the last of my money. Competely forgot the refund wont show straightaway, so thats me over my overdraft....not as good a deal as it could have been :S lol
hey ho, live and learn x
i live in A++rington but also frequent h+slingden and r+wtenstall as i work in r+wtenstall got the toy story gift bags from both r/stall and H/den, flash wipes h/den lynx instinct deodrant h/den, off to a/ton tomorrow so hope to find more bargains, i love this thread it is so friendlyJan lunch to work days 0/200 -

I didnt get any smarties missed that one
The TCO's were pilled up in our bedroom but it was so tempting to just pop up stairs and get one at least now I have to work a bit harder to get it...Have you ever tried opening a loft hatch without waking the kids and then looking in the dark for the stash (as I always forget to take the torch up with me lol) whilst also making sure I walk only on the beams as not to put my foot through the plater board..... I know I deserve one after that lol :T0 -
o.k. got too cocky with the 4p items today and nearly caused a scene,,,,went over to ss with an item which had no tag and keyed in the barcode manually, item not found, tired again sa came over, item not found, tried once more and it came up £12....the scream alerted the sa again who came running over.
Quickly I made up a story that clothing had said it was old stock and only about a pound and could she delete it, which she did.
Luckily she didnt notice the other 4p items on the screen.
WARNING, don't scream at the ss or you will get noticed.0 -
Please can anyone help?
I have been on the phone to Tesco Clothing (after 40mins queueing) as I ordered 6 items, all nightwear on 3for2 but one was cancelled. As I then didn't get 3for2 on the second 3 items, I paid only £2 less but am one dressing gown down!
The lady on the phone said that within 48 hours I will be credited with the cost of the item cancelled and it will be on my account when I log in. There is nothing there at the moment. She didn't take any details from me so I am presuming this is a national policy?
Does anyone have any experience of this? I daren't use my new slippers and PJs until this is sorted!! Jan 2008-Paid 74% of debt as of MAR 2012 (DFD - APR 2014) DMP Support Thread Member 154  DFW Long Hauler 116:grin: Official DFW Nerd Club 928- Proud to be dealing with my debts :grin:0
