Trying to take on Lloyds!

OK, I've posted a few times regarding Lloyds TSB not stopping charges or interest on my accounts since entering my DMP.
I have written to them last month asking for them to stop, I had a letter from one of the departments (loans) saying NO. I have just re written the letters to go back out, I figure eventually I might be able to annoy them into it! :p
Though having just read the letter the loans department sent me when I originally contacted them telling me I was entering a DMP it states that they HAVE to send me notices of arrears that are building up when paying reduced payments and they will show the full monthly amount due. Well, I have not received ANYTHING yet, and it's now been three months. Even after I stated in my last letter to them that I would like them to send me statements of my account to enable me to keep details of such things and keep track of how things are progressing.
When looking on the national debtline website for template letters, I saw a template for a letter for a creditor not sending statements saying that when requested they are legally obliged to, is this correct? If so, how should I take Lloyds on over this?
I'm really in the mood for winding them up now, especially as they have just taken another lot of charges and interest from my current account!

As alaways, thanks in advance :)

Yes, you'll need to nag. Refer them to The Lending Code, which they subscribe to.
    178.
Subscribers should be sympathetic and positive when considering a customer’s financial difficulties.

Ask them how they are being 'sympathetic and positive' in your situation, and mention that you may refer their response to the Financial Ombudsman Service for their view on it.

The Fos can't order ltsb to refund charges or to stop charging but they can take a view on whether you're being treated fairly. Their factsheet explains.

With Lloyds it's usually incompetence rather that deliberate awkwardness so you do have to chip away at them. Hopefully the Co-Op will take over more and more of their branches.
  • i cant offer any advice unfortuantely but was interested on reading your post. we have recently set up a dmp with cccs (paperwors was sent off monday) and one of our main creditiors is Lloyds TSB to which we have a loan for £3300. What is your experience with them since starting the DMP? I do worry if they dont stop the interest and charges surely ill never pay it off? EEK!

    thanks in advance
  • I was curious about this post too, my dmp imcludes £95 a month to Lloyds, which lloyds have told me is £50 interest and charges with only £45 going to actually paying off my debt ¬_¬ Id be interested in anything you hear back from these letters as I dont think this is very fair of Lloyds at all!!!

  • After 2 years on a DMP with CCCS and me sending several letters plus complaints,Lloyds have finally stopped charging interest on my current account overdraft. Their credit card were more sympathetic but still took several months. They have been very difficult to deal with in my experience.

Good luck with Lloyds OP, we actually went into the branch, explained the situation (no job, no benefits, living off tax credits etc) and asked for their help ... and got laughed out of the branch. Hundreds of threatening phone calls ensued from them to us, we now pay them £10 a month on 2 debts, will take years to pay off, but they finally stopped all interest and charges when they passed the debts to THEIR own DCA, who are actually really helpful.

Sorry to sound like i am raining on your parade but just wanted to wish you luck!

I'll also wish you luck with Lloyds, in my experience they are one of the buggest bunch of money grabbing !!!!!! going! It took me months to get them to refund interest and charges which they applied to my husbands account AFTER HE HAD DIED!!! and another couple of months of arguing before they finally sent to £3k plus extra they had received from the insurance company when the overdraft was cleared!

Also, Royds TSB share prices are beginning to look very dicey at the minute - it's currently below the value they dropped to during the first bailout.

I don't why Royds insist on prolonging the agony - they're inevitably going to go down.

The biggest morons to deal with ever!
I've recently been helping someone who WANT'S to pay their overdraft in full, pending a couple of very simple questions being answered regarding a couple of confusing charges.

They did not respond to the letter after a month - it was resent. Still no answer, sent again. Finally a reply!

"Thanks for your offer of a monthly payment, please fill in the enclosed soa so we can see if it's realistic"...!!!!...Can they effing read??????? (She was telling them she was willing to pay in FULL!!!)

So, letter sent AGAIN......no answer(and none to this date)

Do they want this paying or not?---this is their dedicated collection centre as well!!

Edit....During this entire time, the phone calls in a combination of ones made to the landline and ones made to the mobile, were totalling an average of 18 per day (I kid you not)

Absolute utter incompetent morons.....it's no wonder they cokked up and needed bailing out. They seem incapable of reading or sorting the simplest of requests......
Happiness, is a Kebab called Doner.....:heart2::heart2:
  • They were hassling me by phone for ages too when id already told them I didnt have any money and that I wouldnt till the first. If they go under would I have to pay my overdraft back?!
