Outrageous! - will this affect my DMP

Right so im back in debt back on here lol :(

So ive recently gone on a DMP with CCCS and it says to not get any more credit else it could jeopardise my DMP.

I logged in to my very account just to have a look - theyd increased my credit limit without asking me! Ive heard that this can be done but I was still pretty annoyed. I rang them up and asked for it to be put back and told them never to do it again.

The stupid thing is the woman saud that people who pay their account may have their limit increased automatically - but last time I rang them I told them I couldnt afford the payments and that I was going on a DMP!

Then she reminded me that my statement was due and that I should pay them as soon as I can *facepalm*

anyway rant over, will this affect my DMP? Im pretty sure CCCS isnt open at 9pm else id ring them ¬_¬

    No it won't.

It's not as if you have actually taken out any new credit. If you started spending on the card, then that might be a different matter.

I just bought a £10 DS case for my sons (for a used DS hes getting for Xmas) and Very were the only ones who had it in the right colour. id never heard of them and assumed they were an Amazon like internet shop. I paid by debit card but it seems they have opened an account for me with a £400 limit. This is despite me being on a DMP with CCCS for 11 years and still owing £18000 !!!! Are these companies really that stupid?

I contacted CCCS as i wasnt happy - didnt want to loose the DMP after so long but was told it was no problem. I can even use the account if I wish to improve my credit history provided its for things I would normally pay for by Debit card and I clear the balance a few days later. The warning was that as soon as the full amount isnt paid in full I would be in breach of my DMP. Im sure after 11 years i have learned to budget properly and not to take credit I cant afford BUT spoke to Very and got the account cancelled anyway as you can never be sure.

    Thanks

It's the only month my debt with reduce like this. I used my savings to pay off a Vanquis card that has £1300 on it.... I'm on a mission to get rid of my C.One card by end of year. I honestly feel addicted to saving money at the moment (just hope it lasts!)

Ah good call. I remember when I first started moneysaving it was like an addiction! Got got myself out of debt and back in the clear.................. only to be a complete idiot and rack up even more debt than the first time. Hoping to get that addiction back pronto!!!!

Just to point out, if you find the £20 off a £50 order voucher code, then that would make a £50 down to £30, which is cheaper than the £35 you are planning on paying for the game.
You could therefore 'spend' another £15, which could be used for a Christmas present or something that you would need to buy at some point anyway, and would actually save you a fiver. :money:
